It's No Wonder Why I LOVE This Woman

This is Rachel Zoe's Twitter profile picture. I mean....so chic <3
Just wanted to share it with you all

Pierre Hardy for Gap

I seriously think that Twitter is like my newsroom for the industry (other than Fashionista, of course <3).

So, Lucky magazine's Twitter post was about Pierre Hardy's new shoe line for Gap this fall. The leather sandals, above, come in navy blue, beige, khaki, and gray. The shoes are planned to be in stores in mid-September.

I'm pretty stoked. I mean, the first thing I think of is my father saying "Amanda, you don't need more boots, or shoes for that matter." But I'm never going to listen. I feel that shoes can make an outfit. I am just in love with those olive suede boots. I mean, come on.

Charlotte Russe Ripping Off Jimmy Choo...again?

I previously wrote an entry about an adorable pair of shoes that were a complete copy cat of Jimmy Choo. Well, it looks like they are at it again. I wasn't aware that they were a copy until I saw Charlotte Russe's twitter post about them. Is it bad that it kinda makes me want them more? I don't condone knock offs, but its going to be years before I can actually afford a pair of Jimmy Choos. Is it so wrong that I want to look the part of a fashionista...on a budget?

Visit Charlotte Russe's website if you want a pair of your own.

Idk. I'll think about it. x0x0 lovers.

What Were You Thinking, Issac Mizrahi??

Ummm....I mean.....what??...why??

Estelle and Rachel Roy To Do Jewelry

According to InStyle's twitter post, Rachel Roy and Estelle are going to collaborate on a jewelry line that will debut in the spring 2010.

I am definitely very intrigued by this pair. I never thought of Estelle as a fashionista by any means, however I definitely look forward to seeing what these two produce.

Boots I Loooove

Balmain 2009 Fall RTW=Obsession

(Click on the image for larger view)
I seriously think that this might be my favorite line for the fall. If not, it is definitely in my top 5. I love the pointed shoulders, the black and silver mixed, thrown in with the draping T-shirts. These are the kind of looks that I am going NUTS over.

Kitson LA and Seven Jeans Join People's Lib at la Russe

In addition to People's Liberation, Charlotte Russe has also added Kitson LA and Seven Jeans apparel to their stores.  We got the Seven Jeans in our store about a week ago and we are almost sold out. They are roughly $40 each, and I'm tempted to try them out. We haven't received the Kitson LA jeans yet, but we were told tonight at a meeting that they are going to be different than any other jean on the market.

I am definitely impressed with the direction that our store is going. Some people are annoyed that such reputable brands are going to be sold at such a "cheap" store. However, fashion is for everyone, not just the wealthy. Everyone should be able to feel glamorous. I use to think that Forever 21 was more fashion forward than Charlotte, but I now realize that Forever 21 they are better at doing knock offs (which I am usually not a fan of) whereas Charlotte is teaming up with credible companies.

Neither of these brands are available on the Charlotte Russe website yet, but People's Liberation is. To visit their website, click here.

Charlotte's Liberation

If you haven't heard by now, Charlotte Russe has a new line of clothing that is causing a lot of stir. People's Liberation is the name, and rocker chic is their game. (Ok that was cheesy, I know).

When I was at work and saw this new line I was flabbergasted by the price of the jeans. Their jeans range from $95-$105. This is Charlotte Russe....our most expensive jeans were $40, that being the highest priced item in the store. I know our target market, and I knew they weren't going to like these prices, so my first reaction to this line wasn't positive. But the jeans were the only items that I felt were overpriced.

Above are the two items that I am the most in love with. The dress to the right is only $37.99 and the jacket to the right is $59.99. That may seem a little steep to our customers, but with my 40% employee discount, it's definitely doable for me.

Looks Like Lust...

I saw these jeans in the August issue of Lucky and I am DYING over them. I got this picture form Express.com, but the picture in the magazine had the pants cuffed and made them look sooooo chic (I'm not the biggest fan of boot cut). They're only $80....but that's kind of steep for me right now. Hopefully I can catch them on sale in the future.

An Answer to My Prayers?!

I was flipping through the August issue of Vogue...when this giant ad made me gasp:
I know it's hard to read...but I swear it says "IN THEATERS THIS FALL". I thought it was only going to be in theaters in the UK. But this was in the American Vogue!! Ahhhh I'm sooo stoked!!!

Love this

My Obsession and My Curse...

Life for  me  lately has been a little emotional. So, guess what my security blanket is??
That's right: shopping.

Since I am currently trying to support myself this summer, I haven't had much money to spend on clothing and such. Unfortunately and fortunately, I have my credit card information (the credit card that I got taken away by my father, mind you) memorized. And this comes in handy when you are doing some online shopping.

Granted these sites are relatively cheap, I know I shouldn't have bought this stuff...but I did. These are the items I recently bought....all which I love, but will feel a tiny bit of guilt when I receive them.

Have you seen/read Confessions of a Shopaholic. That's me.

The Persistence of Cartier

So I saw this Cartier watch in "The Surreal Life" spread in the Fashion Trends section of Elle magazine. I immediately thought of this painting, The Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali. Another fact that fashion is indeed art.

I Know It's called Ralph LAUREN...but...

So I was just checking my Twitter and something grabbed my eye...and NOT in a good way.

According to NylonMag.com, Lauren Conrad got a shoe named after her. Alright, I think I could deal with that...if it were a shoe from, like, Bakers or something...

But it's by Polo Ralph Lauren.
It's called "the Polo Ralph Lauren Conrad Sneaker".

So why a sneaker? Granted I'm sure the girl does wear sneakers once in a while, but we always see her in heels or cute sandals. She's a California girl for crying out loud. And to make it worse, it's a high top. I could see her wearing Ked-like sneakers, but not high tops (nothing against them!).

Ok, so supposedly Ralph didn't mean to name the shoe after her, but I don't get that. How do you NOT know who she is? Whether you agree with her fame or not she's known to pretty much everyone. And why is she getting a shoe named after her at all? She has her own clothing line (a couple now, in facet) so she doesn't need to attach her name to anymore apparel.

I love the idea of LC. But to me, I will never take her fashion seriously, especially since a girl I interned with told me that while at a PR firm she previously interned at, they sent clothing to the Hills cast in California....and she's a designer??

But I digress...

Ralph, is there anyway you can change the name?? Just asking.

Anna Sui Resort 2010

This collection is bananas. Anna Sui always has an amazing collection. I love the boots that are paired with most of these looks. It's feminine with a masculine twist.

Aren't I Lucky???

So I have been on the hunt for a fall internship at a magazine because going one semester without one made me feel completely out of the fashion loop. Plus, I enjoy the experience. Today, I heard back from Lucky magazine's accessories department and I landed an interview on August 17th!!!

Lucky is the first fashion magazine I started reading religiously every month. Perhaps you can say it started my obsession with collecting the fashion glossies. I'm super excited and hope it goes well. Wish me LUCK ;-)
x0x0

P.S. How ironic is it that my last entry was bashing the most recent cover of the magazine?! Hey..you win some you lose some. I still love you Lucky <33

I Hate This Cover....Beth Cooper

So, I love Hayden Panettiere. She's super cute and funny. However, this cover of the August 09 issue of Lucky is horrible. The first thing that came to my mind when I saw this photo: mom hair. I mean, a blow out usually is super glamourous and gorgeous, but something went wrong with this one.

And what's with the top? Ok the color's nice, but that cut and material don't seem very youthful to me. The poor girl looks like she's a stepford wife. Sorry....

Harry Potter.... and the chic wizard?

HOLY CRAP! I wouldn't have known this was Emma Watson on the cover of UK Elle,  if it didn't say so right there in black and white. Ok, so her face looks like her, but it was the hair and the outfit that distracted me. She has this hip rocker look going on, where as I am use to seeing her in gorgeous dresses and stilettos for movie premieres and award shows. I never would have thought of her as...edgy! I love love love it!!

Super Stoked!

Just bought these AMAZING heels online at Charlotte Russe's website. I love how strappy they are and the studded embellishments. It seems that anything that has a stud or a spike on it, I fall in love. I love these shoes especially because they can be worn every season. I can rock them now with a great dress and in the fall/winter I can pair them with opaque tights and skinny jeans. Also, I have been starting to fall in love with the rocker chic look. Like, ALOT. Plus, they were only $44.99!!!

Boom Boom Marie Claire

Speaking of magazine covers, I just saw that Fergalicious is rocking the cover of Marie Claire. I definitely like this cover better than last month's Allure cover. Granted her body looked great. I'm in it for the clothes. Plus it doesn't hurt that I have a soft spot for  MC, since I interned there and all ;-).

I'm getting paid tomorrow (FINALLY) and I know I will be picking up every fashion magazine in sight. This whole living on my own and supporting myself thing has really made me cut back on the frequent fashion mag purchase. Well, I'm going to catch up!

Kate Lands August Bazaar Cover

Kate Winslet landed the August 2009 cover for Harper's Bazaar. Take a peak at her photo shoot for the issue.

P.S. This is such a relief compared to the July issue. My favorite mag is back to it's beautiful and recognizable cover.

Elie Saab Fall 2009 Couture

All I could think of while looking at this collection is the Ice Queen from the Chronicles of Narnia. Also, that some  of these  dresses would be fantastic wedding gounds.
I love that the collection is all white. It's truly stunning.

Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2009 Couture

Rock chic, fur, the Matrix, and elegance. Doesn't sound like they go together, but boy does this collection work. I am impressed and amazed.
