Feeling the Heat in Leather?

A new trend for the spring time is leather. It's more than just a leather jacket, however. Leather skirts, dresses, and bustiers are all the rage for the spring/summer.

My question is: Is leather really practical for summer? I understand those early months such as March and April where the transition from winter to spring occurs, but this trend is included for the summer time.

And I don't know about you, but I am currently spending my summer in North Carolina. The weather is constantly in the 80's and 90's (and sometimes in the 70's when it rains). And it's not even OFFICIALLY summer yet. How breathable could a black leather skirt be??

Maybe I'm wrong. Who knows? Maybe I'll even try it. If you want to get the look but your budget is low, (I know mine is) check out Charlotte Russe to get this Black Liquid Pencil skirt for only $14.99.

I know if I ever want to try this trend, I will need to lose some LB's in the hip and thigh area.

Hope you're all keeping cool!

Hot Heels

As seen in the June issue of InStyle Magazine, celebs are going crazy for Jimmy Choo's new Glynys sandal. I'd die for these shoes. Seriously. They are available in calfskin or water snake. However, the retail price for these gorgeous duds is $1,036. Keep an eye out for copies, such as the Go Jane Paten Zipper Decor Heel. This nearly identical shoe is retailed at $19.70. Happy shopping!

Update: 7//8/09
Today at work (Charlotte Russe) I realized we got a shipment of shoes that are exactly like these Jimmys. I AM SOOOOOO BUYING THEM. Judge me if you must....I'm a college student....

ING Signs Rory?

According to my FAVORITE fashion blog, fashionista.com, Alexis Bledel of Gilmore Girls has been signed with ING for commercial endorsements.

I think this is fab. This girl has an individual look, especially with the beautiful fair skin contrasted with the dark brown hair and icy blue eyes. It's too bad she's on the shorter side for modeling, being 5'7" (god I'd die to be 5'3") and no one would probably take her seriously enough to let her do any high fashion spreads. Otherwise I think she could rock them.

Hey you never know.
