Assisting A Stylist!!!

As the job hunting has been difficult, a few good things have come from it. In May I met with stylist Priscilla Polley about assisting her. I heard from her today and I am going in to help her this Monday and Tuesday. Priscilla does mainly editorial styling, although she's done some advertising. She's worked with WWD, American, Chinese, and Italian Vogue, and V Magazine to name a few. I'm so excited because styling for editorial is my DREAM JOB. I'm sure I am going to learn a lot.

Favs from the 2010 MTV Movie Awards

Amanda Seyfried, Jessica Biel, Scarlett Johansson, and Kristen Stuart all looked stunning last night. But my favorite of the night had to be Sandra Bullock's black dress she wore to accept her Generation Award. She's the epitome of grace and style.

SATC 2...the clothes I loved!!!

Like most of you, I saw SATC 2 as soon as I could. I was a little disappointed with the plot, but the humor and, mostly, the fashion were up to par. These were a few of my favorites.
Summer chic at its best. Carrie is rocking a Halston Heritage dress, a Chanel clutch, and Louboutins. Nothing could get better than that. These Brian Atwood pumps that Carrie was wearing, made me want cry tears of joy. Both Samantha and Miley rocked the same Matthew Williamson dress...although everyone can probably agree that it is more age appropriate for Miley, as was made clear in the movie.
This was one of the best parts of the movie. I love how they brought back the Christian Dior newsprint dress on Carrie. And Christian Louboutin laced booties? I die for.

Miranda looked amazing in this gold dress and YSL pumps.

Designer Dosage: Alber Elbaz

Name: Alber Elbaz

Date of Birth: 1961

Hometown: Casablanca, Morocco

Brand: Lanvin

Claim to Fame: Simple and feminine clothing

Quote:
"If it's not edible, it's not food. If it's not wearable, it's not fashion"

Career: In 1987 he moved to New York and worked for two years for a manufacturer of mother-of-the-bride clothing. He then went to work for Geoffrey Beene for seven years. In 1997, Elbaz left Beene and, through retailer Dawn Mello, was hired by the firm of Guy Laroche.Elbaz was able to update the collection and somewhat enhance the image of the firm, whose activities at the time included the management of 15 boutiques and 70 license agreements worldwide. However, he departed within a year, 1998, and began designing ready-to-wear women's clothing for Yves Saint-Laurent. He would have become the head designer of the house when Saint-Larent retired. This was not to happen because the Gucci Group purchased YSL Rive Gauche, the ready-to-wear label, and, hence, Gucci design director Tom Ford dismissed Elbaz after 3 collections. Elbaz then began working for Krizia in Italy and designed a well-received inaugural collection.

In October 2001, he was appointed artistic director of Lanvin in Paris. He received the International Award, Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) in June 2005 and was named Chevalier of the Légion d'Honneur, Paris, January 25, 2007.
