Trend Obsession: Loose Vests

Besides being comfortable, this kind of vest will help to add a little bit of an edge to your outfits. They come in many shapes, sizes, and colors. I personally love wearing them over T-shirts, but they look great over long sleeves or tanks, as well. I seriously want one in every color. This one is by Guess and is $79.00. It's a great staple for late summer/early fall.
Loves it.

You Don't Need To Tell Me Twice

This  is the commercial for "Fashion's Night Out". It's an event on September 10 to help support the fashion industry and to bring back the spirit of shopping. Stores all over the five boroughs will stay open until 11pm. You may also run into some famous faces. On Letterman the other night, Anna mentioned how she was starting off in Macy's in Queens.

I loooooved this ad. It was funny and charming. Anna's laugh is adorable and SJP looked stunning. And what I loved more than the ad was the SHIRTS. I want one. Now.

So I ordered one. If you want you can buy them from Neiman Marcus for $30. Remember that 40% of the proceeds go to the National September 11th Memorial and Museum.

I'm very excited. I cannot wait. I'm definitely going to do my part. I suggest you all do the same.

I Can't Believe I Missed It

I'm so ashamed. I meant to TIVO Anna Wintour on Letterman tonight...but I must have gone temporarily insane because I didn't.

I got this YouTube clip from Fashionista's page. I think Anna is very charming and quite funny in this interview. I can't wait to see The September Issue!

Double Take

I was reading the September issue of Harper's Bazaar and admired this lovely platform pump by Azzedine Alaia. After that, I went along my merry way. That is, until I came to the back section of the magazine and saw this:
For a moment, I thought they had shot the same shoe twice. So I flipped back to where I saw the Alaia and did a double take. It was then that I realized that this second shoe was Valentino. I continued to compare them and was shocked at the similarity. If I noticed it, clearly the editors at Bazaar did. So I am a little confused as to why? Maybe they just loved them both so much that they couldn't choose so they chose both! Or maybe in person they look more different.

It's a classic case of mistaken identity.

Back To School: Feeling the Need for Tweed

It's time for back to school shopping, and something I am dying to get my paws on is an impeccable tweed jacket, much like the Marni jacket above (however, I want mine to have a minimum of three colors in it).

The thing I love about tweed, besides it being cozy and warm, is that it is such a smart, polished look that you can dress up or down. The trick is, though, to make sure the jacket is youthful. The last thing you'd want is to look like a grandmother.

I don't know if it's from all of the Gossip Girl season 2 I have been watching, but I'm hungry for this jacket!

It's On TONIGHT!!!

OMG IT'S FINALLY HERE! The second season of the Rachel Zoe Project is premiering tonight at 10 pm on Bravo! I feel like I have been waiting FOREVER! I'm so excited (if you can't tell). Watch, TIVO it, watch it online....whatever! Make sure you don't miss it!

Fall Trends...I Love...But Am Scared To Try

Normally, I consider myself a fashion risk taker. But these two trends for the fall, are making me a littler nervous.  Let me know what you think!
Slouchy Pleated Pants: They make this model's legs look soooo long (not that she needs them to). I am, however, 5'1". I'm afraid that they will make me look...well...silly. I'm dying over how amazing they look on women. So powerful yet sexy.
Draping Skirts- Looks beautiful on tall, skinny women such as this model. However, I don't need to add extra volume to my hips....Again, keep in mind my height! These skirts are incredible though. They remind me of a Grecian goddess.

I have come to the conclusion that I am going to just have to try them out (in fitting rooms of course!). You never know until you try!

Sooo Looking Forward to Season 6...Tomorrow!!!

"Project Runway" and "Models of the Runway" Premiere Aug 20! | myLifetime.com

Shared via AddThis

(Click the link above to watch the preview)

I was worried about the show now being on Lifetime, but after seeing these previews, I am soooo pumped!

And I didn't have any idea about the whole "Models Of The Runway" show...I think it is a fabulous idea, and from this preview, it almost looks more dramatic than Project Runway.

Tune in tomorrow at 10! I know I will be!!

Keep Your Fingers Crossed

So, yesterday I had my interview at Lucky magazine. I was a lot more nervous than I was expecting to be. But I guess that's okay because it keeps you on your toes.

I was worried that I was going to arrive at the interview all smelly and sweaty because the city was scorching. But luckily I packed everything under the sun to keep me looking presentable.

The Conde Nast building is awesome (above). Very beautiful. I just honestly wish it wasn't in Time Square (I'm sorry, it's just the crowds in Time Square can get a little old). But when I arrived, I was pumped and ready to go.

I was surprised that the woman I was waiting to interview with, Rebecca Aronson, was waiting for me outside the elevators, but it was also a relief because finding where to go can sometimes be confusing. We sat down on these couches in the lobby and we jumped right into it.

Again, like always, I stumbled on the "tell  me about yourself" question. If that wasn't bad enough, she asked me why I wanted to be at a magazine. It seems simple, but to me it was like "why wouldn't I want to be at a magazine?". I explained the creativity these magazines supplied me with. I explained how they were great resources for girls who want to find their style and confidence in themselves. I also told her how Lucky was the first magazine I ever subscribed to.

I also told her about this lovely blog I have, (maybe you've heard of it ;-) ). She really liked that I have this...as do I!! lol. All  in all, I felt that interview went really well although it was a bit brief. All I had to do next was send her some references.

I sent her contact info to Lisa at Marie Claire and Brett at Levi's. So far I have heard back from Lisa that she has already spoken to Rebecca, which I really appreciate!!

I hope to hear from her soon and when I do I'll be sure to post it (unless I don't get it...).
Keep your fingers crossed for me!!

Airbrushing At It's...Best?

Um...so I saw this ad in some magazine....I can't remember right now. I guess this image made me want to forget everything.

First off, I think it's strange that Britney is the new face of Candies. Candies is a brand for the preteens to early twenties group. Is this the role model for them? Granted, I know Brit has made progress within the past year or so, but I still wouldn't consider her a good role model.

Also, it doesn't even look like Britney in this picture. I mean, look at her face! It looks more angular and clearly more airbrushed than it naturally is. To me it is all wrong.

I say stick to the girls like Miley, Ashley Tisdale, and Vanessa Hudgens, Candies.

Not So Much

I don't know if I'm in a bad mood from the weather today or something, but this is my second negative post in a row.

I went and got my Marie Claire issue today and was very much disappointed when I saw the cover above. I love the Olsen Twins and their fearless fashion styles. However, Ashley looks like she just finished shooting up. Her hair looks great, but from that point down, all is lost on me.

The top would  be okay on someone who has a little bit more of a chest. I feel like she should have been in something, I don't know, more flattering to her small frame. Also, I hate the fact that it looks like her straps are falling down. That shirt combined with the drugged out looking make up looks as though Ashley is about to be checked into an insane asylum.

Maybe I just became too use to the September cover she did for Marie Claire 2 years ago (below), for I have a huuuuge poster of it on my wall. I mean, it's probably a hard picture to live up to.

It's ok Ash. Here's hoping for the September cover in 2011.

Perez....Enough Is Enough

I'm over it. Seriously I am.

On Twitter today, I saw that Perez Hilton launched his own fashion blog called CocoPerez (normally I would supply a link to the website, but I refuse on this one).

I also then saw a complaint on Fashionista from a disgruntled fan about this new site because it seems as though Perez steels all of his headlines from Fashionista and Jezebel and WWD. Not only that, the fan states that Perez spells Gaultier, "Gautier".

And if that weren't bad enough, he used the name "Coco" for his blog. Like wtf? If he is trying to compare himself to Coco Chanel I am going to barf.

I'm sorry I am coming off a little harsh, but I get annoyed as it is with his insistent bashing of other people. And now, here he comes and walks in on my territory? I don't think so.

She may be single...but she's sizzling...

My chin nearly hit the floor when I saw this cover. I mean, it's bad enough that this is my boyfriend's fantasy girl, but she's nearly twice my age and is in waaaaaaaaaaay better shape than I am. The only thing that's leather that I can pull off right now are boots and a jacket.

It's so chic, too. I mean, yes she's an all American girl, but she looks like she belongs at a NYC Fashion Week party in that ensemble. The spread of her inside, however, isn't as great as the cover. But, I think I can forgive her.

It Girl

So this girl is popping up everywhere and I'm just starting to realize just how cool this chick is. Her style is so effortless and her attitude is awesome. I'm not the biggest fan of her show on MTV, but as a fashionista.....she definitely takes the cake.

Marni Fall 2009 RTW

The colors, the patterns, the shapes, the details and textures...this collection is incredible. And how can you not notice the sunglasses and purses? Love the accessories. x0x0

Erin Fetherston Fall 2009 RTW

These are my favs from the Erin Fetherston's fall collection. They are amazing, which is expected...because basically she is amazing. However what's with the animal masks/hats? I am just not sure what to make of it.

Whatever...it's still all fabulous. xoxo

Blaire's Bazaar Photo

Of course I was excited when I learned that the gorgeous Leighton Meester was going to rock the September cover of Harper's Bazaar. I mean she looks absolutely stunning, because she is.

However I then learned about the digitally altered picture inside of the issue that ages Meester. My question is, why would you do that? I mean...why speed up the process? I just don't get it. I know Bazaar is all about "fabulous at every age" but if they wanted to see some older woman's chic attire, put Meryl Streep in the mag or something.

I don't know how Leighton feels about this, but God knows that I don't want to even think about what I am going to look like when I'm older.

The Zoe Report Is a Hit

Everywhere I turn, people are raving about the Zoe Report.

If you haven't read yours or haven't signed up yet, this is what you are missing so far:

Issue 1: Her "Light of My Life" pick...the Brian Atwood Lola platform pumps and her cheaper suggestion by Steve Madden.

Issue 2: She showed us how to "Walk Like An Egyptian" with Anita Ko's jewelry, including bracelets and earrings. She also suggested a more budget friendly version in a ring, for $33.

I really love these emails. They definitely make me smile. If you haven't signed up, I suggest you do. Click here to sign up.

Rodarte at Affordable Prices?? What's NOT to love?!

I was pretty excited when I saw the post on Fashionista about how Roadarte is going to be the newest designer for Target's GO International line.

I mean, who hasn't drooled over their clothing? And now it can be in my closet! Prices range from $9.99 to $79.99 (Perfect for us college kids!)

The line is suppose to debut in December. I seriously have to put the date in my planner and Blackberry because I keep missing all the good stuff!
